A paper-and-ink hideout for the herd's thoughts, sketches, gossip, and grievances. We're putting together issue zero. We want your stuff.
A zine by, for, and about the cows.
CowZine is a small printed-and-stapled (or beautifully photocopied) creature put together by the people who come to Mooncow Fest, and anyone else hanging around the herd. It's part-newspaper, part-art-mag, part-yearbook, part-classifieds. There's no theme, no party line, and no editorial committee — just a deadline and a pile of pages waiting to be filled.
Pitch us anything.
We're especially looking for the things below — but if you've got a wilder idea, even better. Words, drawings, photos, scraps, half-finished thoughts. Everything's on the table.
Missed connections, dating ads, romantic confessions, lonely-hearts mail.
Rants, raves, gentle disagreements, fan mail, anonymous complaints.
A hill you'd like to die on. Defend it, attack it, plant a flag.
A book, a film, a sandwich, a friend's haircut. Stars optional.
Doodles, comics, portraits, marginalia. Black and white reproduces best.
A place you went. A place you wish you'd gone. A walk around your block.
Tell us something true. Local, niche, or improbable. Bring receipts.
Cryptics, sudokus, mazes, riddles, wordsearches, dingbats. The weirder the better.
Photos, prints, collages, accidental double exposures. If it lives on a fridge door, it belongs here. Black and white photocopies beautifully.
Match reports, hot takes, dramatic retellings of the 2026 CowZine egg-and-spoon race. All sports considered. Yes, including darts.
Got something to sell, swap, or shout about? Write your own ad. Classifieds, display, or a full-page spread. Rates negotiable (we accept vibes).
Half an idea? Perfect.
You don't need a finished, polished, ready-to-print piece. A scribble on a napkin, a vague thought, a "wouldn't it be funny if…" — all very welcome. Tell us what you're thinking and we'll happily help shape it into something page-ready.
Initial idea deadline. Send us your idea — finished or not — so we can plan the issue and start helping you build it out.
Final article / artwork deadline. Everything in by this date so we can lay it all out, photocopy, staple, and unleash issue zero.
Got an idea? Send it our way.
Pitch a rough thought, drop us a finished piece, or just say hi. We'll write back with deadlines, formats, and friendly encouragement.
